The Claret Jug

The Claret Jug, named in honor of our affection for the Open Championship.

We don’t provide the Jug from which to relish your victory, but what we will provide Burlington residents or Spirit Hollow guests is the wine or your favorite before dinner cocktail on our deck overlooking the golf course.


“One Can’t Play Well If One Doesn’t Eat Well” – Chef Eric Hall


When you are ready, Chef Eric Hall will be waiting to serve up a delicious creation beginning with an appetizer of smoked salmon, bruschetta or homemade white bean chicken chili.

While you’ll be tempted to fill up on these delectable delights, we suggest saving room for the main course. Some of the Chef’s favorites include USDA prime steak, BBQ platter with ribs and smoked brisket or the tasty rotisserie chicken. Complete any entrée with a side of our famous sweet potato casserole and you might have to loosen your belt a notch or two.

To finish off your meal, Chef Hall always has a selection of seasonal desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth before you head over to the bar for your after dinner cocktail.

And when you are ready to start again, the Chef will be ready before your tee time to serve up a hearty cooked-to-order omelet, breakfast potato skins or a homemade cinnamon roll along with a hot cup of coffee.

  • The Claret Jug is open to guests of The LODGE, The CABINS and Spirit Hollow residents.
  • Public may also dine with us.  Limited seating for the public is available seven (7) days a week.
  • Walk ins welcome on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Public reservations must be made 24 hours in advance, based on availability, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • All guests of The Claret Jug must be 21 or older in order to dine.
  • Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance by calling 319.752.0004.
